Britney Spears Circus Tour 2009 Opening Night New Orleans Louisiana

The Britney Spears Circus tour opened with a bang last night in her home state of Louisiana.
But disappointingly, she lip-synced her way through the entire live come-back set in her first tour since 2004.
Dressed as a ringmaster, Britney descended from the roof of the New Orleans Arena on wires, to perform her album title song, ‘Circus’.
The 2008 platinum selling album saw Britney well and truly re-instated in her rightful position as ‘Princess of Pop’.
Ninja’s, clowns, martial arts dancers, and jugglers lit up the stage in a visual feast of action, whilst Ariel acrobats held the audiences attention for the duration of the gig.
The warm-up act was ‘The Pussycat Dolls’ who did a great job of warming up the crowd. They did a 40 minutes set, and performed tracks made popular from their albums
Britney lip-synced, ‘Womanizer’, ‘Piece of Me’, and her signature tune (Hit Me) ‘Baby one more Time’, amongst others, during her 90 minute set in which she performed 22 songs in all.
There was much changing of costume, with Ms Spears going from skimpy outfit to skimpier outfit, which she can certainly pull off with panache.
There was little communication with her audience, but at the finale, Britney did manage a “Thank you New Orleans, I love you guys. Did y’all have a good time? Thank you so much,” as she left the stage on the opening night of her tour, a little bit richer. -
Britney’s tour hits the UK 3-14 June at the London O2. The 44 date, 4 month, worldwide Circus Tour looks set to be a winner. -

I suppose the plus side of her lip-synching is that she definitely won’t be cancelling any of her 44 tour dates as a result of strained vocal chords. The downside though is that people are going to be paying out lots of money to see Britney Spears prance around the stage to a CD that they already have at home.
It sounds like there was a lot going on onstage though, so at least she’s making things visually entertaining, which is always good to know. She could definitely try and make more of an effort with the crowd interaction though.
I enjoyed the article. I know how much you like Britney Spears.
