Following the vicious domestic assault on Rihanna (Robin Rihanna Fenty) a few weeks ago by singer/songwriter boyfriend, Chris Brown, 19, he was charged with assault and making criminal threats, when he appeared in court yesterday.

Brown was released on bail of $50, 000 and will return next month for sentencing.

The attack occurred on February 8th in the early hours of the morning after the couple had attended a Pre-Grammy party.

Police were called after a member of the public witnessed a “loud, violent confrontation” in the street.

Browne turned on the 20 year old, Barbados born singer, Rihanna, as they were driving in his rented Lamborghini.

The incident happened when Rihanna read out a lengthy text she had found on his phone. He then went for her, putting her into a headlock and almost choking her till she nearly passed out.

He also banged her head against the car door, punched her and bit her fingers. She was covered in bruises, had a split lip, bite marks on her arm and fingers and a badly swollen face with black eyes. Brown also tried to push Rihanna out of the car.

Brown is reported to have said: “You just did the stupidest thing ever” “I’m going to kill you”. “I’m going to beat the shit out of you when we get home” -

Rhianna needed hospital treatment following the brutal, unprovoked attack upon her.

Echoes of Whitney Houston here. Rihanna is brilliant. Her song Umbrella was phenomenal. I hear she is back with Brown now. More fool her. Mindless violence against a woman is unforgivable.

‘It’s common knowledge that Whitney had a pretty volatile relationship with Bobby Brown for many years, but despite her misfortune in her love life, she doesn’t want Rihanna to make the same mistakes she did.

The National Enquirer reports, “When Whitney heard what had happened to Rihanna, she was close to tears. Right then she knew she had to contact her and urge her to get out of the relationship while she can. She made it clear that Rihanna should dump Chris.”

Whitney also made a public statement saying, “Don’t make the same mistakes I did. Whenever you let your heart rule your head, you are bound to run into trouble.”

After the attack, Rihanna unfortunately had to cancel her upcoming performance at the Grammys last month. Chris Brown did not appear either.

Rihanna has released a statement for her fans and supporters, saying: Thankyou for:

The Music Industry aren’t seeing this incident in a very good light. Most US Radio stations have stopped playing Brown’s records and Jay-Z “hit the roof” when he heard about Rihanna’s attack, calling Chris Brown: “a walking dead man.”

I’m not surprised that most US radio stations have stopped playing his music; what a horrible man! She’s covered in cuts and bruises in that picture, it’s just absolutely dreadful.

It’s really no surprise that Jay-Z has made the comments that he has done as well; I’m sure that Chris Brown has made a lot of enemies all over the world for this, and rightly so.

Again you’ve done an absolutely excellent job with this article; very well written. I’m so proud of you. So proud.
